How you reach your goal.

Submit your complete application documents online including cover letter, CV, internship references, last two school report cards via our job portal.

After we have received your application, we will send you a confirmation of receipt as soon as possible.

If your application was successful in convincing us, we will invite you to a recruitment test followed by an interview. The test lasts between 1.5 – 2 hours, depending on the occupation. The test is designed to test your mathematical understanding and language skills. You will also be asked questions specific to the job.

If your test result and the first interview have convinced us of your abilities, we will invite you to a second interview. It is important to us that both sides have another opportunity to get to know each other better and to clarify any questions.

If the second interview is also successful, you will receive an offer for an apprenticeship from us. If you can also imagine starting your professional life with us, then you will send the signed contract back to us. Now nothing stands in the way of your training for your dream job!

Answers to all your questions

We start accepting applications for the following training year in May. Ideally, you should apply one year before you want to start your apprenticeship. Of course, you can apply throughout the year. You could get lucky if we have not yet filled an apprenticeship or a dual-study position.

So that we can process your application quickly and easily, send us your application documents via our job portal. It’s best to combine all documents into one PDF file.

As a rule, you start your training at the beginning of August. You can find the exact date for the start of training for the respective year in the job advertisements.

The dual study program officially begins with the theory phase at DHBW Stuttgart on October 1. However, so that you can make your first contacts in the company and get to know UNITY beforehand, you will start at the same time as the trainees in August.

  • Where and when you go to vocational school depends on your training occupation. Some trainees have school in blocks of time, while others go to vocational school every week. Our trainees attend the following vocational schools:

    Industrial Business Assistant *: Ludwig-Erhard-Berufskolleg Büren

    Office Management Assistant*: Louis-Leitz-Schule Stuttgart

    Media designer*: Arnold-Bode-School Kassel

    IT Specialist*: bib International College Paderborn

In the dual study program, the theory and practical phases alternate every three months. The theory phases take place at the DHBW Stuttgart. You will mainly complete the practical phases at our site in Büren, but assignments at our Stuttgart branch or abroad are also possible.

You have 30 days of vacation per year. If you start or stop working within a year, your vacation will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

During your training, you will work in the departments that are important for your profession. For example, as an industrial business assistant* you will work in accounting, human resources or marketing. Basically, you should be mobile and flexible.

During your training, you have a standard working week of 40 hours. We usually work from Monday to Friday.

Application tips

How to make a good impression

To ensure that your application is a complete success, you should pay attention to a few points:

  • You should invest just as much time and care in your online application as you would in a conventional application.
  • Avoid spelling mistakes. A little tip: Have your parents or another trusted person proofread your application.
  • Make sure that your documents are complete.

Your application should include the following documents:

  • A personal cover letter with a brief introduction and an explanation why you want to do your training or dual study program at UNITY, and why you are the right person for the job. It is best to support your statements with examples, such as experience from an internship.
  • Your last two school report cards or your diploma.
  • An informative and clear resume with information about your contact details, your school education, internships and extracurricular activities and interests.
  • Any certificates of internships, vacation jobs, courses, etc. you may have.
  • If you are applying for an apprenticeship as a media designer*, please include samples of your work.

The interviews

  • Following your test, we would like to get to know you personally.
  • So that you can start the interview relaxed, be on time.
  • Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in. You should not dress up, but you also should not be too casual. Show us that the interview is important to you.
  • We want to know who you are, what you can do and why you want to do your training or dual study program at UNITY. To do this, you should find out more about UNTIY before the interview.
  • We are happy if you also have questions for us. This shows us your commitment to the training or dual study program.
  • Be open and authentic in the interview. We want to get to know you as you really are.

The employment test

  • The recruitment test is the first step towards your goal. How do you prepare for it?
  • In addition to your language skills, the test also checks your math skills. You don't have to be an Einstein, but you should be able to do basic arithmetic. Otherwise, refresh your memory with practice exercises.
  • Also be prepared for job-specific questions and general knowledge. Research these and familiarize yourself with them.
